SUPERINTENDENT POWER OPERATIONS - HYDRO  

Reference: 20003064

Based in Tabubil and reporting to the Manager Power Services, you will be responsible for safe and effective coordination of all Hydro power operations and maintenance activities. This position will ensure power services are delivered in a timely and safe manner thus satisfying all regulatory codes and standards.


Your role will involve:


Managing the Power operations personnel;

  • Ensuring that the Ok Tedi operational areas are provided with enough power whilst maintaining costs at an acceptably low level;
  • Ensuring departmental goals are communicated to all power operations personnel thus ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives;
  • Maintaining strong relationship with the power operations teams to sustain a high level of power equipment utilisation; and
  • Managing operational functions of the department and enforcing the PNG Mining Act and Special Rules, established corporate and OTML policies and other directives from the department manager.

 To be considered, you must possess the following:

  • An Electrical/Mechanical Diploma Certificate or Degree from a reputable organization;
  • An experienced superintendent with over 5 years in Mining or other related industries;
  • At least 15 years in power systems maintenance, large diesels and hydro plants;
  • Sound knowledge in key metallurgical processing concepts; and
  • High level of communication & articulation.
