The company has introduced a structured six-month training program to equip trainees with essential industry skills. This initiative includes a buddy system, pairing newcomers with experienced operators for hands-on mentorship, and prepares them to support the commissioning of a new processing facility set to launch in mid-2025.

K92 Mining CEO John Lewins highlighted the importance of developing local talent, stating: “The development of a skilled local workforce is a cornerstone of our expansion strategy. We are proud to provide opportunities for recent graduates and local workers to build their careers in mining. Through structured training and mentorship, we are not only preparing them for success but also strengthening the long-term sustainability of our operations in Papua New Guinea.”

The company’s investment in training underscores its broader commitment to skills transfer, career development, and the long-term growth of Papua New Guinea’s mining workforce.
