Position Overview


We are seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Graduate Intern Laboratory Technician. In this role, you will be part of our Operations Technical organization for approximately 10 weeks, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to engineering activities at ExxonMobil PNG. The position is based at either the Hides Gas Conditioning Plant in Hela or the Liquefied Natural Gas Plant near Port Moresby.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop a strong understanding of technical knowledge related to process equipment and facility systems.
  • Analyze performance data to ensure safe and reliable operations, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with a technical mentor and share project deliverables with key stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications


To be eligible for this program, applicants must:

  • Be a PNG Citizen or PNG Permanent Resident.
  • Be in the final two years of their Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Chemistry or Science - Chemistry, with the internship commencing in November 2024.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
