MANAGER MINE TECHNICAL SERVICES

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager Mining, you will be responsible for the safety, management and performance of the Mine Technical Services Department providing effective leadership and technical support to the Mining Business Unit.
Your role will involve:
- Providing effective leadership and technical support and guidance in the areas of Geotechnical & Hydrogeology, Mine Planning, Survey and Geology;
- Development of practical designs, plans and solutions incorporating all technical aspects to ensure a safe, efficient and productive mining environment;
- Coordinating the mine’s annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes and ensuring results are delivered to stakeholder’s expectations;
- Identify business risks and opportunities, develop short and long-term business and improvement outcomes; and
- Ensuring compliance with OTML standards, policies and procedures and other government regulations including the PNG Mining (Safety) Act.
To be considered, you must possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline;
- Over 20 years’ experience in mining resources / mining sector, of which 10+ years’ experience is in managerial roles;
- In-depth knowledge and application in Open Pit mining operations, planning & scheduling and technical fields;
- Mineral processing, metallurgical knowledge and underground mining experience as well as PNG Mine Manager’s Certification, or ability to acquire, are considered desirable; and
- Understanding of cultural diversity and project delivery through a multicultural team.
This is an even time FIFO role with an option to elect for Residential status and relocate family to site.
