Oil Search is seeking expressions of interest from highly skilled and experienced Electricians/High Voltage Electricians within the Maintenance Operations Team based in our field locations at Iagifu Ridge, Southern Highlands Province. These are fly-in/fly out roles on a 28/28 roster.
As an Electrician, you will be responsible to perform routine preventative maintenance and inspection on electrical equipment (low voltage) as well as maintain all lighting and power systems assigned to OSL PNG.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Perform the preventative maintenance, inspections and some repairs on most pieces of electrical equipment. Document inspection reports and equipment down-time.
- Install lighting systems and power points at various locations throughout the project area. Replace burnt light bulbs and inoperative light fixtures and power receptacles.
- Maintain the electrical systems at the valve stations, cathodic protection stations and communication sites. Ensure that components such as solar panels, generators, battery chargers and control systems are functional.
- Assist in maintaining the 415 volt generation, control and distribution system. This includes the preparation of required documentation for safely isolating & deisolating 415V systems as required for operational and maintenance tasks.
To be success you will have the following:
- Relevant Electrical Trade Qualification coupled with 5+ years hands on trades experience post completion of apprenticeship
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a multicultural environment with the ability to interact with all levels of the organisation
- Flexibility to travel to operational sites when required
- Willing to be vaccinated or currently hold a recognised Vaccination Card
- Computer literacy with exposure to SAP not essential but favourable
- Experience with turbo machinery would be an advantage. E.g., Gas Compression trains, Power generation equipment.
