Westpac has backed the Pacific Financial Inclusion Programme which expects over eight thousand people to learn to save and use financial products.
The partnership will support and develop branch managers to deliver training to local communities throughout the country.
Last week, 25 staff attended a five- day workshop in Port Moresby.
Westpac PNG’s Head of Retail Banking Adam Downie said that by training its own team members, Westpac can accelerate the delivery of financial education in the communities.
Money Basics and Financial First Steps workshops teach participants to manage their income, expenses and savings.
