PNG has a portfolio of mining projects spread across the country.  The large projects dominate: Barrick Gold’s Porgera gold mine, Ok Tedi copper mine, Newcrest’s Lihir gold mine, and most recently, Newcrest-Harmony’s Hidden Valley gold mine and MCC’s Ramu nickel-cobalt project.  There are three small to medium operations: Petromin’s Tolukuma gold mine, Allied Gold’s Simberi gold mine, and New Guinea Gold Corporation’s Sinivit gold mine
