ABOUT THE ROLE

Simberi Gold Company Limited is seeking a dedicated Camps Supervisor to join our team on Simberi Island. Reporting directly to the Camps Superintendent, you will oversee camp administration, accommodation, laundry personnel, and camp maintenance staff to ensure seamless daily operations and strict compliance with company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operations & Maintenance: Manage daily camp facility operations, laundry, cleanliness, waste disposal, and environmental practices. Oversee timely, cost-effective maintenance of power, water systems, ablutions, and security.
  • Logistics & Admin: Coordinate camp bookings and flight schedules using Inflight. Complete operational reporting and admin tasks accurately.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce OH&S policies, report hazards/incidents, maintain safety equipment standards, and protect the local island ecosystem.
  • People Leadership: Provide daily guidance, mentoring, and performance reviews for direct reports. Promote staff development, identify training needs, and foster a collaborative, high-performing safety culture.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent Tourism/Hospitality qualification.
  • Valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, including working with bulk food suppliers (planning, procurement, inventory, and production).
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, training, and developing national and local employees.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-oriented leadership skills.
  • Alignment with St Barbara Values and Code of Conduct.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and time-management capabilities.
