The company is seeking a Project Lead Engineer to coordinate and support planning and operational teams across Open Pit Mine Planning, Underground Mine Planning and Operations, and Open Pit Mine Operations. The role ensures effective management of the Open Pit and Underground interface and supports safe, efficient mining performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate mine planning and operations across open pit and underground teams
- Manage OP/UG interface planning in line with PNG Mining Act and company rules
- Deliver underground mine design studies for Ok Tedi and potential regional sites
- Ensure equipment reliability, including dewatering systems and drainage infrastructure
- Maintain compliance with OH&S and environmental policies and procedures
- Support operational teams in meeting production targets
- Improve planning systems and processes for long-term optimisation
- Promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Degree in Mining Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in mining operations
- Strong knowledge of open pit and underground mining operations and design
- Experience in mine planning, budgeting, and cost forecasting
- Strong stakeholder and contractor management skills
- Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail
- Commitment to safety and teamwork culture
