About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Specialist – Sourcing to join our Procurement and Supply Chain Team in Lae. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying sourcing opportunities, evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships to ensure value, compliance, and efficiency across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end sourcing and contract lifecycle.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies in alignment with company goals.
• Coordinate tender processes, prepare procurement plans, and facilitate supplier evaluations.
• Negotiate supplier contracts and ensure compliance with corporate policy requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance.
• Analyse proposals and conduct price reviews within Oracle.
• Build and maintain a strong network of potential suppliers.
• Support purchasing, inventory, and logistics functions.
• Ensure all sourcing and purchasing activities align with NPL’s supply chain policies.
• Travel to the Porgera Mine Site as required (monthly).

About You

To be successful, candidates should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Three to five years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in mining, oil, or gas sectors.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Working knowledge of procurement legislation and corporate procedures.
• Proficiency in Oracle or SAP systems, MS Office tools, and report preparation.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to maintaining high health, safety, and environmental standards.

Additional Requirements

• PNG National position based in Lae (five days on/two days off or ten days on/four days off rotation).
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical examination, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Must provide a valid Police Clearance Certificate issued within the last six months.
