MANAGER TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Manager Training & Development. Reporting to the General Manager People & Capability, the successful candidate will manage the company’s training facilities as well as provide governance over training and development systems and processes across the site to unlock the potential of our people and enhance safe, operational performance.
Your role will involve:
- Managing the Ok Tedi Dr. Jacob Weiss Training Centre toward the vision of becoming a Centre Of Excellence.
- Managing the Training & Development Team to be key contributors to improving the company’s performance.
- Providing governance to all training activities across the site to ensure quality and consistency of approach.
- Identifying key operational skills gaps and working with all Business Units to develop and implement sustainable solutions to deliver results.
- Ensure the development of Ok Tedi Graduates, Apprentices and Local Area Trainees to provide a continuous flow of new, quality talent.
- Ensure systems and processes are in place to maintain complete and accurate training records.
You ideally possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in a professional discipline with significant experience in the management and leadership of Training and Development functions;
- Must display a passion for the development of others and demonstrated experience in the identification of training needs and implementation of successful training interventions which have achieved improvements in performance;
- Ideally you will have experience in the mining, resources and energy industry; and
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
This is a site based Residential status role.
