We are currently seeking to recruit a Site Change Specialist to join our highly dynamic workforce within our Simberi Operations. The ideal candidate will support and implement improvements to production and support departments to achieve goals.
Reporting to the Site Transformation Lead at Simberi, this position will lead deployment of improvement initiatives and create an environment that promotes continuous improvement, increases consistency, reduces pain points and empowers workers to enhance the value of the operation. This is an exciting time to join Simberi & St Barbara as we embark on our “Building Brilliance” journey to transform the business and deliver sustainable value.
This is a FIFO position, however due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an additional week will be required due to Covid quarantine, and therefore it will be a 28/14 roster. Point of Hire is restricted to Kavieng/Rabaul/Port Moresby/Lae/Mt Hagen or Tabar group of Islands.
The key roles and responsibilities include:
- Ensuring and monitoring safety in the workplace by identifying and addressing hazards, participating in improving safety and ensuring all reporting requirements are completed.
- Supporting the Site Transformation Lead in setting up the projects and maintaining momentum to project completion
- Reviewing progress of project initiatives and monitoring achievement of key milestones.
- Planning and assisting the site team to achieve project goals.
- Undertaking coaching of Initiative Owners to ensure the timely completion of major milestones.
- Hands on leadership of Own Improvement Project
- Cultivating buy-in across the site at all levels of the operation including contractors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
- Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values.
- Considerable experience in business improvement concepts and strategies utilising business improvement tools such as LEAN/ 6 Sigma.
- Demonstrated experience of “Leading Own Improvement” Project
- Demonstrated ability to impart change and influence leaders.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
- Strong ability to lead and work effectively with people; and
- Tertiary qualification in related discipline or similar experience.
