Position Objective

We seek to recruit an experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent who will be responsible for maintaining safe and reliable fixed plant processing equipment and infrastructure.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support site-wide and corporate systems to meet agreed service delivery levels of fixed plant installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Monitor maintenance systems and performance measures and formulate alternatives and improvements to systems and methods
  • Ensure alignment with the 13-week plan
  • Liaise with Maintenance Planning regarding work plans to allow adequate preparation time for task allocation
  • Cascade plan and objectives through the team to ensure all activities are focused on agreed outcomes
  • Ensure parts, consumables and expertise available as scheduled to enable team leaders to allocate and supervise work flow
  • Ensure a customer-focus is maintained and check for customer feedback regularly
  • Establish controls to ensure all equipment history logs are maintained and assist in prioritising for work scheduling
  • Establish controls to ensure necessary data is gathered in relation to equipment usage, components and lubricants, to enable reliability analysis
  • Assist with complex fault-finding and diagnosis
  • Develop and drive the strategy for Fixed Plant Maintenance to align with the operating plan and production budget
  • Maintain a formal management reporting system that incorporates performance statistics, any applicable statutory requirements and business improvement initiatives

To be suitable for this role, you will possess the following:

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in Mechanical; and
  • Post-trade qualifications such as maintenance planning or reliability
  • Significant experience providing Fixed Plant Maintenance Services to a large mineral processing operation
  • Several years working at a senior trades level, followed by significant experience leading a team in maintaining a large minerals processing plant
  • Demonstrated experience in customer-oriented, high volume service delivery
  • Demonstrated success at improving equipment availability and reliability through the use of maintenance management systems
  • Maintenance planning and service-delivery monitoring and reporting
  • Proven experience in training and developing a national workforce
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (preferable)
  • Current Drivers Licence

This position is open to Papua New Guinea Nationals and Expatriates.

Your primary location will be the Porgera Mine Site. For PNG Nationals the roster is a fly in, fly out rotation on 21 days on, 14 days off. For anyone who resides outside of Papua New Guinea the roster is a fly in, fly out rotation on 28 days on, 14 days off.
