About the role:
Oil Search is seeking expressions of interest for a Plant Reliability Engineer position within our Maintenance Reliability team located in Port Moresby.
Oil Search has recently implemented its Reliability Based Asset Management Framework and as a result looking for driven and mechanically minded engineers to join its Reliability Team.
Our Reliability Function is going through a significant transformation to help prepare OSL for the future. We are currently introducing a structured Technical Competency development program for all the engineering disciplines (as per international standards) and a carefully planned Learning & Development plan for the successful candidates.
Reporting to the Reliability Lead, you will be accountable for driving and achieving optimum operational availability by leading the efforts and engaging the key asset stakeholders to improve and achieve sustained high reliability performance for the process unit that you will be assigned to.
Overall Reliability improvement effort hinges upon identification and management of Threats & Opportunities related to plant availability through a robust relationship with the asset operations team and other stakeholders.
The Reliability Engineering team drives the continuous improvement of reliability processes within the assets to drive reliability and improve equipment and asset performance by means of developing preventive maintenance strategies, championing the problem-solving work process (RCA/DEM) and monitoring, and reporting of reliability key performance indicators. It is expected that Reliability Engineers spend 30% to 40% of their time per month at the field locations executing operational reliability improvement tasks. As the owner of the asset-based Availability Threats and Opportunities register and your proven experience you will be responsible for the following:
Champion the identification of reliability threats through periodic production impact review sessions, bad-actor identification/reporting and raise appropriate actions as per the OSL Reliability Management work process.
Analyses asset reliability performance data (Production Losses) and provides reliability data to site leadership team (for Production optimisation, Asset Master Planning, risk assessments, Reliability Steering Team reviews, etc.).
Regularly communicate reliability performance data to the asset including site leadership, production teams, and run and maintain organization. Owns the asset Reliability Dashboard (Pareto analysis of Bad Actors, Big Hits listing, progress on RCA/DEM actions, Availability performance etc
Provide pro-active Technical Surveillance on critical equipment, report, and act upon anomalies. Provides technical advice and maintenance engineering support for the field operations and maintenance teams based on her/his technical background.
To succeed in this position you will have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ post graduate industry experience in operating in a similar role
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a multicultural environment with the ability to interact with all levels of the organisation
- Flexibility to travel to operational sites when required
- Willing to be vaccinated or currently hold a recognised Vaccination Card
