15 Mine Workers in PNG tested negative from Coronavirus

The 15 samples taken in from the mine workers from PNG's Hidden Valley Mine  who came into contact with the first confirmed Covid-19 or CoronaVirus case have all returned negative.

PNG Police Minister Bryan Kramer told a media briefing today, these are the fifteen that traveled with the man from Bulolo up to the mine site at Hidden Valley in Lae, Morobe Province.

Mr. Kramer said though that these persons are free to go about their normal lives, they will still be monitored for the next seven days as a precautionary measure.

Minister Kramer explained that they do not need to undergo further tests as their results came back negative straight on the spot, unlike the first case whose result was inconclusive therefore requiring further tests.

He said contact tracing is still continuing for the other passengers who traveled with the man from the Singapore flight into Port Moresby and from Port Moresby onto Lae.
