PNG student geologist Ivano commended for high Academic achievement in Australia

Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited has commended its graduate geologist Ivano Ivano for his top academic achievement at the Adelaide University in South Australia.

Kumul Petroleum managing director Wapu Sonk said the national oil and gas company was proud of Ivano’s high academic achievement after a stint at the Adelaide University for a Masters degree programme.
“We are proud for the benchmark set by a young Papua New Guinean graduate employee of Kumul Petroleum,” Sonk said.
“As an employer and NOC, such achievements bring satisfaction to the organisation that invests a lot effort, time and resources into graduate development programmes and other training and development opportunities through various partnership arrangements with our business partners,” Sonk said. He stressed that such outcome reflected the kind of policy initiatives, training and development programme in the company.


Australian High Commision in PNG also congretulated him for  his achievement. "The Australian High Commission is pleased to announce that a Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited employee will be the first to undertake Master’s study under the Australian Government and Santos Limited partnership.

Geologist Mr Ivano Ivano has been awarded this scholarship through a new partnership between Santos Limited and the Australian Government, to undertake a Master of Science (Petroleum Geoscience) at the University of Adelaide in Australia next year. Ivano’s study will include industrial training in one of Santo’s operations.

Ivano was selected as a result of his outstanding performance and the leadership potential he has shown in his workplace. Congratulations Ivano and good luck in your studies!"
