The Processing Maintenance Department OK Tedi Mining in Papua New Guinea  is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Support Fitter. Reporting to the Supervisor Systems & Support – A Crew, you will be responsible for the safe and effective maintenance in the crusher and mill area maintenance activities and the continued safe and effective operation of the hydraulic systems, compressors and associated processes and equipment incorporating all functions undertaken in maintaining the processing plant and equipment maintained under the processing maintenance section.

This involves maintaining components to quality specifications according to manufacturer’s standards and delivery back to the end users. The maintenance of the Gundagai batch plant, Ok Ningi dam water pumps, the Ok Ningi dredge, the plant air compressors, and plant hydraulic equipment. You will ensure that the hydraulic and compressor services are delivered in a timely and safe manner satisfying all regulatory codes and standards.   You will is also be responsible for assisting in the development of maintenance strategies to reduce mean time between failures and improve equipment availability to achieve reliable machining process to meet clients’ demands. Assist with other processing plant and equipment repair and maintenance/service as and when required.

To be considered, you must possess Trade Qualifications in Fitting & Machining specialling in Hydraulics. Completion of an Australian accredited Hydraulic A, and or Introduction to Fluid Power technical course is essential. You must have 5 years post trade experience in a hydraulics workshop plus 3 years external hydraulic field service experience with extensive knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. You will need to be able to diagnose faults, repair and reseal all types of compressors, pumps, valves, motors & high pressure hosing.
