RAMU NiCo will be hosting the fifth National Mining Emergency Response Challenge in Madang next year.
The recent challenge – held in Kavieng, New Ireland last month – was hosted by Newcrest Lihir.
Ramu Nico’s two teams from the Kurumbukari mine and Basamuk Refinery appreciated their participation in the past challenges over the years.
“Next year Ramu Nico will be the host for the challenge. There will be many barriers the company will have to face, but with the support of management we can no doubt make it a successful competition,” Kurumbukari mine’s emergency response team (ERT) superintendent and trainer Daniel Round said.
“The team has learnt a lot having observed the performance from the other mining company ERT teams and preparing for a better one next year,” he said.
