Ok Tedi Mine Limited to stress on mining safety

 THE Ok Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML) in Western will stress more on safety during the third national mining safety week (NMSW) starting on Monday.
The theme for the event is “Sefti mas go pas” (safety should be a priority). 
Samantha Andreas, superintendent of the Occupational health and safety systems and programmes of the occupational health and safety department said this year’s event would see more participation from OTML’s departments and their contractors.
Among the participants are Ela Motors, Fubilan Catering Services, Star Mountain Clothing Factory, Ok Tedi Development Foundation, Hastings Deering, Dredeco, Deepcore Drilling, East West Drilling and Mining Supplies, Protector Alsafe, the Mining and Processing departments, Tabubil Hospital, the Asset Protection Department-Fire Rescue team, the Occupational Health and Safety Department and the Environment Department.
Andreas said the aim this year was to get all OTML employees involved, starting from the management level down to the employees.
