NEWCREST Mining Ltd, an Australian largest listed gold producer, said its gold and copper production have increased during the last December quarter.
In the last quarter, the miner produced 621,125 ounces of gold and 22,603 tonnes of copper, reflecting a strong production performance during the first six months of the 2014 financial year.
In a statement to the Australian Stock Market, the miner said it maintains its guidance for gold and copper production with gold production expected to be around the top end of the guidance range (2.3 million ounces) subject to market and operating conditions.
Newcrest’s December 2013 quarter gold production by site has the Lihir operation sitting on top at 187,591 ounces, Telfar – 156,789 ounces, Cadia Valley 151,305 ounces, Gosowong 77,990 ounces, Hidden Valley (Newcrest’s 50 percent share) – 24,792 and Bonikro 22,657.
The company said it will release its full December 2013 quarter results with further details next week.
