THE Nawailevu bauxite mine in Bua Fiji has exported about 500 million tonnes of the mineral commodity recently.
Fiji's Mineral Resources Department director Malakai Finau said an interesting achievement was the rehabilitation works that had resumed with the introduction of crops to mined areas, in association with the Ministry of Agriculture.
He said in an Information Ministry statement that watermelons and pineapples had been tested in some plots and it was growing well.
