Job: Supervisor SO a Crew at OK Tedi Mine, PNG

The Asset Protection Department is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person for the Supervisor (SO) ACrew - Kiunga role. Reporting to the Area Supervisor Security Kiunga Port Facility & Bige, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective coordination and implementation of all security activities and services at the Kiunga Township and surrounding area, through the implementation of strategies aimed at ensuring total compliance to OTML policies and procedures, the PNG Mining Act and the Criminal Law by the workforce. Strict adherence to the highest standards of workplace practice and all relevant legislative requirements is essential for success in this role, and the compliance with established policies and procedures is expected.

You will monitor and coordinate operations at shift level, conduct security risk assessments, analyse and provide to management reliable intelligence reports and crime trends impacting on OTML business operations and plan and coordinate operations designed to eliminate any such security risks. You will promote a high performance work culture by ensuring that security operations personnel are highly motivated, well trained and competent. You will also coordinate emergency response notifications, attend emergency scenes, inspect work areas/monitor activities of security personnel and submit security reports by shift end amongst others.

As a minimum, you must possess a Grade 12 certificate. Additionally a Certificate in Law and Facility Security Officer certificate would be desirable. You will be a proven achiever in maintaining and achieving high safety standards with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. You must possess exceptional knowledge and skills in PNG Maritime Regulation, International Ship Port Security, Security operational strategies and disciplinary procedures, in-depth understanding of court procedures, criminal law and relevant acts of parliament, and must have a class 6 driver’s license.
