Its managing director Peter Botten also won the APAC (Asia-Pacific Assembly-oil and gas Council) Executive of the Year award.
The double-success was announced at the 2016 Asia-Pacific Oil and Gas awards held in Singapore on January 27 at a dinner hosted by the Oil and Gas Council.
A company statement said: “On January 27, chief executive officer-level executives from across the energy, finance and investment world congregated at the APAC Oil and Gas awards dinner in Singapore hosted by the Oil and Gas Council.
“The awards night celebrated the companies and executives that exemplified excellence in leadership, performance and innovation.
“The awards were voted by a 40-strong judging committee comprising oil and gas industry leaders.
“Oil Search was awarded the APAC Oil and Gas Company of the Year Award (Upstream) – with the award assessing a number of criteria, including value creation and strength of market reputation, corporate governance, investor relations and public relations.”
It said the award was a recognition of Oil Search’s continued excellence in challenging markets and a reflection of the efforts of the entire Oil Search team.
The company said Botten was awarded the APAC Executive of the Year Award, “a deserved recognition of his excellent leadership of the Oil Search team, with criteria including market reputation as a company leader and as a thought leader and shareholder return on investment”.
